There's a story starting...

It's 5am and I'm at the dining room table with Babs in the chair next to me. In truth, my writing desk is as moveable as my laptop. I follow the quiet, moving myself to whichever corner of the house is uninhabited. At this time of day, the household is quiet. Babs and I are the only ones stirring.

If you've found your way here, I hope you've arrived a little curious. I hope you're open to creativity and discovering those small, glittery threads of wonder that run through the everyday.

For years my writing has lived in specific boxes, each held apart from the others, each doing their own thing in their corner of the world. But stories are wild, and lately, mine have been pulling me toward a new adventure of journey and discovery.

You may know my writing from the world of Christian spirituality, or perhaps from earlier my children's books. For some time fiction writing has been for my personal amusement, but I've been cooking up an idea up for several years now. I find myself wandering back into my happy place, writing children's fiction.

I rarely follow a single path with my writing interests. No surprise then, that I've simultaneously started writing a cosy mystery series for adults. Past experience, has shown me that having more than one writing project on the go at any one time actually helps my writing, both in output and quality. Rather than falling into a place of getting stuck, usually one of these threads keep me inspired. Which one of my latest projects will reach publication first? We will have to see!

Most of what I share in these newsletter posts, From the Writing Desk of Caroline Bindon, will be tucked away behind a subscriber-only wall, for my community. I'm not trying to keep secrets, but rather I want to build a space that feels like a genuine conversation with my readers.

You just have to be someone who believes the power of story can bring a little more light to the world.
